Yeah I'm an artist, really all I do is draw stuff, but people like it so I go with it. You should keep that on the down low though word gets out and I can't slack as much anymore.
How long have you been creating?
I guess I started drawing around fifth grade, I was pretty terrible all I did was draw those dudes from Dragon Ball Z over and over again, but eventually I got better. When I switched to using pens a few years later I became the artist that people are familiar with. Shit I would say I have been drawing around 7 years now.
What influences the type of art you do?
As far as influences go I always say its a fusion of tattoo and graffiti art that defines a lot of my style. I will see cool graffiti or an awesome tattoo and think of how crazy that is someone did that. If I had the balls to be a graffiti artist I would be doing that probably.
Does your work have any meaning?
I get the whole meaning of my work a lot. Honestly I would love to say that everyone of my drawings has a cool deep message to it but for the most part it doesn't. I just draw whatever I think is cool and that is about the depth of it. That being said what I draw definitely depends on how I am feeling at the time. Sometimes I feel like there is a tornado in my head so I do a collage of random stuff, other times I will have a certain feeling I want to convey and just draw something to do that. If someone finds meaning in my work or tries to pick out what it means then I'm happy because they are taking the time to look at my art and decide for themselves what it means and they are probably right.
What should people know about you?
people should know I am always try to push forward. I obsess over one thing for a while until I am satisfied then move on. This rings true the most in my art. I used to draw hands all the time until i got them down, I did the same thing with eyes, yesterday it was vultures. Sometimes I keep what I like and incorporate that into future drawings. I am pretty open to new stuff so I always look for what I can use.
Can we see some of your favorite work?
What inspires you?
I take inspiration from a lot of place like I said before tattoos and graffiti. I think my work got more trippy and surfy when I started skating I get inspired by skateboard graphics ads in skate magazines. Basically I will see something I want to draw somewhere and draw it over and over. I will perfect it make it my own and then the best of that is what you see. I used to use drawing as a way to kill time in school so in a way boredom inspired me to be an artist in the first place.
What do you like most about art?
What I like most about art is my 100 percent freedom. No one can tell me what I am doing in art is wrong. A lot of stuff like music and skateboarding you are told
there are no rules then they turn around and tell you that you need to clean that up make it look nice. Art I can do whatever I want and no one questions
it. I can make something as gritty or as clean as i want
spill some ink mess up the colors and in the end if I like it that is all that matters. I think the stuff I do is sort of out there to some people they don't have any grounds to tell me its wrong. In the end I am torturing myself over getting something perfect its because I want it that way not because it is supposed to be.
Last words...?
Go out and do something. Create improve whatever I don't care just do something. People give up on good ideas too easily if the time is right and you have the means then you should do it. Create your own scene.
